Enchanted Forest Wedding | Michelle and Eddie

Part Two | The Ceremony and Reception

She stood from her chair at the head table looking out over the heads of the guests.  As she reached up and adjusted her floral crown people turned to look at her. The crown itself was full of the bride’s favorite flowers and herbs known to bring health, happiness, and prosperity to marriages. She took a deep breath through her nose and let it out slowly through pursed lips. As the microphone reached her mouth she looked down at her parents. Tears began to fill her eyes as she spoke “We are not a blended family. We are not step-siblings. We are just Family.” In this singular moment the eldest daughter of the newly married couple reached into the hearts of every person present and pulled. She pulled at judgement, she pulled at notions and ideas of what made a family FAMILY. Family with a capital F. Family are the people who put you back together when you’re broken. The people who lift you higher when you are happy. The people who, under any circumstance, will be there in your time of need or joy.

It was this family that gathered with Michelle & Eddie for a weekend adventure that ended in their marriage. It was this family that Michelle and Eddie wanted to thank with a glorious party and a delicious feast. With their enjoyment in mind every detail was carefully planned from the table settings to the height of the centerpieces.  Tavern song requests were honored, beautifully written toasts were made, dancing occurred, and during it all Michelle and Eddie took in every moment knowing the memories would last in their hearts forever.
